The design for this prototype emphasizes the idea of information as architecture. These bus stations are to be located not only on the Georgetown campus in Washington D.C., but throughout the entire city. A series of consecutive information "pods" are situated in such a way that pedestrians experience information by passing through and around it. Independent pods include seating, shelter, and an enclosed information kiosk under university control. These kiosks may contain bus schedules, university announcements, television programming or advertisement. This model of layered information creates a usable and perpetually changing environment that serves as an interactive university presence within Georgetown and its surrounding communities.
