Chefs 505

Chefs 505 originally opened in Greenville, North Carolina in 1997. In June 2001, the restaurant was turned over to new ownership, and since then, the Chefs 505 has become the premier place for fine dining and catering in Greenville. In continuation of their success, the owners desired to expand from their traditional restaurant functions, and acquired the adjacent existing space to serve as an adjacent bar and lounge. The serving bar was designed to that straddled both areas, clearly divide function between staff and guests while faciliating interaction among them, and allowed staff to seamlessly work between kitchen and bar. The bartop was constructed with two layers of frosted glass and is lit from underneath; the shelves that contain alcohol behind the bar were given similar treatment. At the owner's request, a pocketed door was installed within the dividing accent wall between restaurant and lounge to complete separate the two spaces if necessary.
