This replacement clinic is organized around a two-story central public circulation spine, which is treated like an exterior plaza inside conditioned space. An interior courtyard, children's play area and vending pavilion provide a park-like setting placing all patient and visitor services in close proximity of each of the clinic pods. The central circulation spine as well as each clinic is afforded exterior glass to maximize natural daylight and provide awareness of the exterior conditions. A variety of interior colors is used to assist in wayfinding to the various clinics or services within the facility.
The clinic contextually responds to the community with scale, texture and color. The scale respects the scale of the adjacent residential neighborhoods, while the massing emulates a traditional bungalow house found in the local neighborhoods. The texture of the building reflects the masonry used in nearby schools and responds to the client's request for a low maintenance exterior. |
